Hearts are not just for Valentine’s Day, or certainly not when it comes to interior styling. We like them all year round, although they’re a specially good theme for presents for female friends. So that’s Galentines taken care of. And Palentines. And any other version of Valentine’s Day that is dreamed up to help part us with our money in exchange for a hearty-home purchase.
Here’s our round-up of the most desirable heart-themed interior buys, mainly for our gal pals of course. After all, home is where the heart is! 💕
Hearts at home
Everlasting Love bouquet
We love Bloom & Wild. Flowers delivered through the letterbox, so the recipient doesn’t have to be in to receive them. Their collaboration with Nikki Tibbles of Wild at Heart is particularly appealing. Check out their beautiful Everlasting Love bouquet, with cloud roses, eucalyptus and olive.
Pink heart bolster
It’s intended for kids’ rooms, but bear with us. Made from organic cotton, it’s 70cm long, and perfect for weekend-morning reading in bed. Some dark and dramatic bedlinen would set it off perfectly.
Neon heart light
Here’s how to make hearts not too sugary – go neon, with a light like this. Perfect against a dark wall, it’s not for the faint-hearted interior lover. We can picture this one lighting the well-trodden path to the cocktail cabinet! Or adding some personality to our kitchen.
Goodwood heart and memories vase
How special would this ceramic vase look with the Everlasting Love bouquet?
The script quote gives it an artisan feel and it’s a lovely sentiment for a dear friend – “I didn’t know we were making memories, we were having fun.” Could this be the perfect thoughtful gift for any friend on your present list?
Believe in People mug by Rob Ryan
He’s the king of the paper-cut, and we love everything that comes from Rob Ryan’s studio. Can you picture someone who really believed in you sipping their coffee from this?
Bella Freud’s Close to my heart cushion
You’ve seen the jumpers (you know, those ones with 1970 across the chest). Now behold the cushion! Embroidered on merino wool, at £160 we’re thinking this one is an heirloom cushion, if such a thing exists. In fact, we’d be tempted to frame the cushion cover as some quirky artwork rather than risking it on the sofa!
Kartell Lou Lou Ghost chair
The scribbled heart on this Kartell chair makes us smile in a way that the kids never achieved when they crayoned on the walls! We’d love to see an adult-sized version of this chair. Picturing it bringing an air of levity to the study. We’ve had Kartell bar stools in the kitchen for years, and they are super-durable with daily use.
